Overstock.com shares were up 12% following more share purchases by Marcus Lemonis, a new board member who is the chief executive of Camping World and starred in CNBC’s “The Profit.”
Shares were recently at $17.57 and are down about 9% for this year.
Overstock announced the board appointment Tuesday. In securities filings Wednesday and Thursday Lemonis reported the purchase of 33,000 shares and 31,800 shares respectively.
Overstock bought some of Bed Bath & Beyond’s intellectual-property assets in June.
